Wellingborough Castle Theatre - National Children's Home Concert

Once again the band visited our friends in Wellingborough at the Castle Theatre for its annual concert in aid of National Children's Homes

Debbie Smith for NCH commented "My thanks to everyone connected with the Jaguar (Coventry) Band for last week's terrific concert . It was a great night and the audience loved it! Without exception, everyone I spoke to said what a good night they had had. Included in that number were a couple whose last brass concert (not a Jaguar Coventry one I hasten to add!) had been a big disappointment and who now can't wait for your next visit! It was a pleasure working with you all. Your organisation was terrific, allowing me to concentrate on my side of things and, as a consequence, everything went really smoothly." Some of the items on the evenings entertainment included a The cornet solo "Song and Dance" ,by principal cornet Bob Baggott, The euphonium solo Glorious Liberation by principal Euphonium Rob Hunt, the flugel solo April in Paris by Andre Bates, 'Folk Festival', the Overture to the Opera 'Rienzi' Just a closer walk, Sing sing sing, Suo Gan, Ashokan Farewell to name a few. Band Manager Kevin Lea states - "The band is pleased to be associated with National Children's home and even more pleased to raise funds in excess of £2,000 for such an important cause"
